Metamorphosis
With the Sun’s entry into Leo on July 22nd, we have officially entered the window to the Lion’s Gate portal. This portal reaches its peak on August 8th, with a steady climb in energetic intensity leading up to that date, followed by a gradual cool down proceeding it. This is a very significant spiritual window of opportunity that we experience every year, so let’s explore what the year of 2023 has in store for this event.
The Lion’s Gate portal opens when our Sun aligns with the star Sirius. The Sun represents our consciousness and illumination in astrology, so as it moves into conjunction with Sirius, we experience a flood of high frequency Sirian energies rushing into our conscious awareness. This energy is characteristically loving, blissful, abundant and activates the heart chakra. The date of this portal, 8/8, signifies abundance, power, karma, infinity and spiritual understanding. It marks a time of upgrades when we can raise our consciousness and transcend to a new level.
This particular 2023 Lion’s Gate portal, while still offering those beautiful, blissful, abundant energies, is also marking the culmination of astrological energies we have been working with throughout all of July (and perhaps dating all the way back to the Spring Equinox). So while there are immensely grand energetics on offer for us to seize and make the most of, there is also a heaping dose of intense emotion accompanying this event.
Looking back to the start of July which was sparked by a full moon in Capricorn, we can see that this entire month has had us working with the themes of shadow, mirroring through relationship, and uncovering the ways we have limited our own highest expression. This work came to an intense head with the emergence of the Cardinal Grand Cross just as Venus shifted into retrograde. So July has urged us to seek inwardly and dig deep into ourselves so that we may discover what darkness has been crouching in the corners of our unconscious.
The Lion’s Gate portal brings us to a pivotal moment in which we take the lessons of our spiritual initiation into practice and come face-to-face with our own darkness. By the essence of the Law of One, this also indicates facing the shadow we see in others and our collective humanity, since we are united as one singular organism in the greater cosmic reality. This work emerges in response to the increased frequency of energy that we are and have been receiving. As we open to higher energies, light codes and expanded consciousness, it necessitates the rising of the collective shadow, for we live in a polarized reality and one cannot exist without the other (at this density). The brighter our light glows, the heavier our shared shadow reveals itself to us in full clarity, no longer obscured.
We must do this work of facing our individual and respective unified shadows for stark polarities do not exist in the higher densities. In order for us to ascend and raise our consciousness, the shadow must be recognized and integrated. This work can be tremendously difficult as it entails engaging with our lowest frequency emotions in order to transmute them.
So while the Lion’s Gate portal is a beautiful and blessed event with many gifts on offer, its primary theme for 2023 is that of bringing the darkness into the light. Each of us in our own unique way will experience a kind of “piercing” of higher consciousness in which our most neglected aspects will be revealed to us. This can feel dramatic and may show up as feelings of defeat, loss, identity crisis, betrayal, attack, limitation and hitting rock bottom. It is imperative that we scrape the bottom of our beings in order to scoop out and scour any remnants of our unseen selves for as we bring these aspects into conscious awareness, they will no longer attract to us people and situations that resonate with their discordant energy.
Challenging as it is, the best way to work with this process is to surrender to it. Laying down our defenses and sinking into the wisdom of our hearts will move us away from a state of resistance and into one of flow. From this place of flow, we may find our creativity enhanced and receive opportunities to express and release these energies in artistic ways. As you relinquish control and allow this process to do its work, you’ll find that it moves efficiently and leads you into a state of metamorphosis.
Through the process of metamorphosis we are given the opportunity to progress on our spiritual paths by expressing our fears, anxieties, discomfort, pain and anguish. All our neglected pieces are finally given a voice and through their resonance we are met with a flood of relief. We receive Divine assistance in doing this work and are encouraged to meet our shadow selves with the same support we receive from our Higher Selves – compassion, love, forgiveness, understanding and comfort.
This internal deluge signifies a purification process. We arise from the depths of our being bathed in a new effulgence, expanded, resplendent and renewed. We are ready to take the next step on our spiritual journeys. We meet our rebirthed form and discover that we have activated the Hieros Gamos, merging with our Twin Flame/Higher Self. Some of us may experience a kundalini activation, a burst of creativity, bliss, blessing, sacred sexuality, and coming into profound communion with ourselves, others, and the Divine. We attract to us with greater intensity now – and this is a wonderful thing because we are now able to attract what we truly want rather than the illusory replications of our shadow selves. Some of us may come into union with our Soul Mates and manifested Twin Flame relationships – or at least, this process will be initiated.
Abundance flows to us and we find greater security, stability and confidence in ourselves. A new sense of wholeness and completion envelopes us and we are overcome by euphoria as our heart chakras unfold into a brilliant blossom of restored radiance. This light holds power and we can use it to protect ourselves, synchronize with our third eye, and give it to others as we now perceive with the unconditional love of the higher heart.
We move into an easier flow of giving and receiving now. We lend our support to others, giving from a place of joyous superfluity as we find we are supported, held and loved. Feelings of gratitude flow forth from our illuminated hearts and we draw into ourselves peace, satisfaction and deep fulfillment. From this metamorphosis we arise in our highest expressions, ready to move into the next chapter of our journey, holding full awareness and embodiment of the Law of One, Divine Essence and Universal Flow. These are the rewards for your hard work, the celebration of your newly unified being and the next step forward in your manifestation of New Earth.
