Venus, Jupiter and Virgo
A New Path is Revealed
As the 2025 Lion’s Gate portal comes to a close, it does so with a sweet blessing as Venus moves into conjunction with Jupiter at 14 degrees of Cancer over the next few days. Having the greater and lesser benefic’s energies fused together in the loving sign of Cancer brings a sense of harmony and nurturance along with the ability to attract new opportunities for growth, abundance and security. Yet, this conjunction is not the whole story; it is merely one component of a larger pattern.
Venus and Jupiter will form a grand water trine with the North Node in Pisces (which will also conjunct the Moon over the next three days) and Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio. BML and the Venus/Jupiter conjunction will then sextile the South Node in Virgo. We find ourselves under the influence of yet another kite aspect pattern. This time the apex is pointed at the South Node.
This is, I believe, the first introduction to our upcoming eclipse season, which will prominently feature an emphasis on Virgo. Over the next few days, perhaps as a conclusionary blessing to Lion’s Gate, we are gifted the opportunity to close a chapter on the past which has failed to serve our highest good. Simultaneously, we can bring forward gifts from past lessons which lead to greater wisdom and inner harmony.
Whatever themes arise for you over the next few days may become focal points during the September eclipse season. The next 6 weeks will bring us a new moon in Virgo on the eve of the autumn equinox; a total lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7th; capped by a solar eclipse at the anaretic degree of Virgo on the 21st. The lunar eclipse in particular will hold very similar configurations as to what we are witnessing now – though with much greater intensity.
I will be exploring each of the aforementioned events in detail at a later time, but for now, I want to address this emphasis that is currently being placed on Virgo. What makes Virgo so special and why might it be a focal point now?
Many of us are familiar with the more mundane attributes of this sign – ruled by Mercury, symbolized by the Virgin, and pertaining to a strong desire for perfection, Virgo has a sharp eye for detail, organization and is grounded in the earth element. Its mutable quality makes it oriented to other people, with a desire to be of service. In its lower expressions, it leans toward being hyper-critical, harboring innate feelings of guilt, imperfection, and the need to always be in control. “If you want someone to organize a fundraiser or clean your house, Virgo’s the one to call.” As natural ruler of the 6th house (house of daily routines, health matters, and responsibilities), Virgo is often perceived as the necessary, yet somewhat, boring sign of the zodiac.
However, there is a much more profound and sacred interpretation of this sign which is often overlooked. As an entry point to this understanding, we can examine Virgo’s associations with both the temple priestesses of our ancient past and the Hermit card of the Tarot’s major arcana. Beginning with the former, the temple priestesses were devoted to upkeeping the temples. They each took vows of chastity as a symbol for this devotion and were dedicated to maintaining the sacred flame (goddess asteroid Vesta has strong Virgo associations). This is partly where the symbol for Virgo as the Virgin originates. Yet, the virgin symbolism is not merely rooted in a lack of promiscuity; it is derived from a sense of inner wholeness and completion which preexists any union outside of oneself.
This is the ultimate lesson of Virgo: within each of us lies something whole, unalterable and pure. It contains all the answers we’ve ever sought and every comfort we’ve ever felt lacking. It is, of course, our soul. We may understand this concept on an intellectual level, but Virgo asks us to take it a step further by becoming soul embodied. Hence, we take the wisdom and mental acuity of Mercury and ground it into the physical temple, the home of our inner sacred flame.
The reason the more mundane interpretations of Virgo steer toward this hyper attention to detail and excruciating stive for perfectionism (often leading to harsh criticism and judgment) is because on an innate, unconscious level, we have a remembrance of the purity of our souls and seek to remerge with that essence in this physical incarnation. We are unconsciously seeking the home within the self.
The apotheosis of Virgo’s evolution arrives when we recognize the soul is already embodied and inseparable from the physical vessel; we are already whole and perfect within ourselves. This is the time when we experience the “harvest” of Virgo, when we marry the conscious linear mind to the unconscious embodied soul, we discover the wholeness within that was there all along. We are then able to rise in consciousness to a level of service to others which grounds the high frequency heart resonance of the spiritual, Christ-like focus into the physical, dense reality of our world.
Virgo is often seen, as ruler of the 6th house, as a transitional sign. It is through this sign that we exit the realm of the personal (houses 1-5) and enter the outer dimension of the impersonal via relationships and contact with the public (houses 7-12). Therefore, Virgo is a bridge between the inner and the outer, the self and other, and helps us create an awareness of the unity between all things. (Cue the lyrics to “I Am the Walrus!”)
Likewise, Virgo’s sister sign, Pisces, also acts as a bridge sign, though in the reverse. Through Pisces we take what was experienced within the physical realm and carry it with us as we transcend into the higher dimensions. Both of these signs are working to integrate the spiritual and physical, but in slightly different ways. Hence, we have some themes formulating for this upcoming eclipse season.
I also want to add that Virgo and Pisces are part of the mutable cross in the zodiac (alongside Gemini and Sagittarius). Mutable energy serves an important function in the evolution of our consciousness. While cardinal signs act as initiators and fixed signs stabilizers, mutable signs are disrupters; they shake up the status quo and break down what has already been built. While this seems to stir up chaos on the surface, they are also instigating an act of creation as the chaotic shakedown of the pre-known intermixes into novel patterns creating forms that are entirely new.
In the wake of the recent Lion’s Gate portal which served to help close old timelines and open us to new levels of heart coherence and consciousness, we are now entering a period in which we step forward into this new timeline to connect with the purest essence of our being. From this place of inner light we reassemble the rubble of old timelines to fashion a new paradigm and path forward which is more greatly aligned with this higher frequency of the heart. Thus, a new cycle begins and our next paths take shape.
We then have the segue into our Virgo and eclipse seasons. It all begins with this unassuming Venus-Jupiter conjunction. Pay attention over the coming days to what themes arise in your life. Where is your focus being drawn? What issues are stemming at this time? What blessings are emerging? These are the themes of the upcoming eclipse season and the lanterns which guide your path into the sacred discovery of your inner world. Your soul is calling.
